ChEW's Festival of Impact and Evaluation

Monday 15th June 2026
Coram, 41 Brunswick Square, London, WC1N 1AZ

Get ready for ChEW’s Festival of Impact & Evaluation, a day dedicated to bold thinking, shared learning, and re-imagining the role of evaluation.

After the energy and success of last year’s Festival, we’re returning with another opportunity to connect with leaders and changemakers from across the sector. Whether you work hands-on with data or make strategic decisions that shape direction and impact, this is a space to pause, reflect, and look ahead together.

The theme

Evaluation in the next era: technology, uncertainty, and the role of evaluation in a just society

This year's Festival will explore big, timely questions such as:

  • What does the rise of technology, including AI, mean for how we evaluate impact?

  • How can evaluators influence policymaking in the context of uncertainty in the public sector?

  • How can we counter the risks of ‘evaluation by tech’ and ensure evaluation is democratic?

  • How can we harness tech for the good of evaluation?

  • What do changes to the SORP and the new Office for the Impact Economy mean for the field?

  • What skills do we need to develop as evaluators and commissioners in this 'next era'?

We will announce the full programme in the coming months.

What the day will feel like

Expect a mix of:

  • Inspiring conversations that connect evaluation to leadership, strategy, and systems change

  • Sessions designed to appeal not only to evaluators, but also to senior leaders and decision-makers who use evidence to shape organisations and policy

  • Opportunities to explore how evaluation, learning, data, and foresight might work together in the future

"A room full of brilliant minds, what a privilege to be a part of it. A day to reflect, learn, and perhaps unlearn. I thoroughly enjoyed every moment of today's programme. Grateful for the insights, connections, and inspiration!"

We’re also planning interactive and creative moments that make the Festival uniquely ChEW:

  • Playful ways to reflect on our identities and experiences in evaluation

  • Spaces to share feedback, questions, and provocations

  • Collaborative activities to map where evaluation is now and where it could go next

More than a conference

As always, the Festival is about more than content. It’s about connection.

You’ll have time to meet peers, exchange ideas, and build relationships across roles and sectors. The Festival will offer space to think, question, and learn together, drawing on diverse perspectives from across the impact and evaluation landscape.

"Have to say that it's a great conference, probs my favourite of the year. Lots of interesting people and ideas. Makes the dreaded networking so much easier".
