About the event

To make evaluation more equitable, we need a diverse sector that represents our society and the people our causes serve. In this quarterly members’ event, we will explore ways that we can attract and recruit diverse candidates. Through a broad range of speakers, peer-to-peer conversations and a panel discussion, we’ll have the opportunity to explore both the big picture and practical tips we can each use in our organisations.

This session follows several earlier sessions about equitable evaluation, which ChEW have convened over the last year. In an effort to sustain this conversation and empower members to make an impact in their organisations, this session will focus on the role of recruitment to build a diverse sector.

The event has been structured to start with the big picture about diversity and recruitment in charity evaluation, and then look at examples of how people have addressed this in their work. The first section of talks bring together a range of speakers from different organisations and movements to set the scene around diversity in charity evaluation. Participants will then have a brief opportunity to discuss this with their peers. We’ll then hear two practical case studies, followed by another short discussion point, before opening to a panel discussion with all the speakers.
